Nuclear Disaster

More than ten years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequent accident at TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant occurred on March 11, 2011.

The damage caused by the nuclear power plant accident is diverse and complex. As a result of the widespread radioactive contamination, people’s livelihoods, which were once blessed by nature, have been lost. People have lost our livelihoods, our purpose in life, the precious time with friends and children, and peaceful daily lives. In other words, the foundation of human life has been lost.

Even though the evacuation order has been lifted, the return of people to their homes has been slow, especially since the younger generation has not returned to their homes and many areas are dotted with households of one or two elderly people.
