In the past, nature in satoyama was closely connected to people’s lives and was in a cycle. FoE Japan, based in the Utsugi Forest in Hachioji City, Tokyo, is working to restore the cycle of satoyama through the use and conservation of satoyama in a way that fits with our current lifestyle.
