Issue of climate financial mechanism to support for developing countries is one of the crucial points at UN climate talk. On the other hand, several new climate funds and schemes were established by International Financial Institutions, and lots of climate projects have been already initiated by bilateral assistances. Japan has announced financial assistance "Hatoyama Initiative" without clear detail of resource, governance and use. Those finances are supposed to contribute to sustainable development in developing countries and stop global warming. However, it is obvious that the term of assistance for developing countries is used as negotiation tool when industrialized countries try to make developing countries accept their proposals in the UN negotiation. And civil society is also concerned about environmental and social impacts by false solutions and lacking of justice of climate schemes and projects out of UN framework.

FoE Japan has been working on research of trend of Japanese Climate Finances from project implementation level until UN climate talk. And providing opportunities for Japanese public to consider how Japan can give real contribution to climate assistance needed.
